Meet Chippy (Pictured at Below)
Life on the homestead is always full of hard work, early mornings, and plenty of feathers — and that’s just how we like it. But next month (August), we wanted to take a moment to celebrate someone very special on our little slice of land. Someone who keeps the flock in line, announces the sunrise (whether we asked for it or not), and struts with a confidence we can all admire.
That’s right — our Employee of the Month is none other than Chippy the Rooster.
Sunrise Alarm Clock (Like It or Not)
Chippy doesn’t miss a beat. Whether it’s raining, foggy, or we were hoping to sleep in just a little longer, Chippy is there, crowing with purpose and passion. He’s the reason the hens stay on task and the rest of us remember what time it is (even before coffee).
We may joke about his enthusiasm, but truth be told — this little guy takes his job seriously, and we respect the hustle.
Keeping Order in the Coop
Every homestead needs a leader, and Chippy is ours. He makes sure his girls are safe, alert, and taken care of, which makes our mornings just a little easier. He’s got just the right amount of sass, a protective streak, and a personality bigger than the barn.
It’s only right that his photo is now proudly displayed in the roadside stand — framed with love, feathers, and maybe a few bits of straw he personally delivered.
A Reminder of Why We Do This
Chippy may be a rooster, but he’s also a reminder of the small things we love about homestead life: the rhythm of nature, the joy of caring for animals, and the personalities that make every day special.
From the garden to the coop to the homemade goods, everything we do is rooted in love — and we’re glad you’re part of it.
Next time you stop by the stand, give Chippy a little nod. He’s earned it.
